Families in Lakewood were the beneficiaries of over 70 gifts donated by members of the Rotary Club of Lakewood and Rocky River at the club’s annual Wassail Bowl Christmas Party on December 10.

The gifts were delivered to The Christmas Store in Lakewood. Completely run through donations, the store partners with Human Services in Lakewood and the Lakewood City Schools to receive referrals.

Families that come to the store and are given a dollar amount that they can spend depending on how many children are in the family. The families choose from new toys that the store prices at normal retail prices to ensure fairness for the families.

Through the generosity of its partners and community members who donated funds, toys and time, the store served 114 families comprising of 305 children. Nearly in $9,700 of toys went to families experiencing difficult circumstances in Lakewood. The Rotary club looks forward to helping to the store make a continued impact in 2019.
